Dorchester School District Four is encouraging all parents and guardians to participate in the 2026 Parent and Guardian School Climate Survey, sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE). You have until April 17, 2026 to complete the survey.

This anonymous survey is a powerful way to shape the future of education in our community. Your honest feedback helps our schools understand what's working, where we can improve, and how to better support our students and families. Results are factored into each school's annual report card and play a direct role in decisions made at the school, district, and state levels.

Parents and guardians of K–12 students can complete the survey through the PowerSchool Parent Portal:

Woodland High School will take the field in the Dorchester County Showdown on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Ashley Ridge High School. Mark your calendar and get ready for a great night of football.

This month in English 3, Ms. Patrick’s 1st and 3rd block classes turned learning into action. Students were divided into departments like a real business researching, promoting, and organizing donations entirely on their own. Through teamwork and dedication, they collected over 500 items, all donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank.

What an incredible Wednesday! We had the honor of welcoming the 8th Grade Class from WMS, our future Wolverines, to Woodland High School!

These amazing students got a full tour of campus and experienced everything WHS has to offer, from our incredible clubs to our outstanding organizations. Our student groups brought their absolute BEST, showing our future Wolverines exactly what it means to be part of the Woodland family.

The future is bright and we cannot wait to see you in the halls!

Last night at the DD4 School Board meeting, the Board approved to make May 29th a full day for students. This is due to school being canceled on March 16 as a result of weather conditions.

The FCCLA members at Woodland High School, mentored by Mrs. Linda Lews, are preparing for their upcoming state competition with a powerful presentation focused on human trafficking awareness. To strengthen their research and bring real-world insight to their project, they invited law enforcement officer Dot Krzemien to speak with them about this critical issue.

During her presentation, Officer Krzemien explained what human trafficking is, the methods traffickers use, and the purposes behind these crimes. She also shared real examples, discussed South Carolina laws related to human trafficking, and clarified the difference between human trafficking and smuggling.

This experience allowed FCCLA members to deepen their understanding of the issue and better prepare to educate others in their community about the dangers and realities of human trafficking.

Spring bus evacuation drills are coming up across DD4. Take a look at your school’s date and make sure students are ready.

On drill day, please have children wear appropriate clothing that allows them to SIT & SCOOT safely during the evacuation practice.

All drills begin at 9:30 AM unless otherwise noted.

Woodland High School’s Student Council spent the weekend at the Leadership Conference hosted at Stall High School. Students joined peers from across the state to participate in leadership sessions, activities, and networking opportunities designed to build confidence and strengthen student leadership. Experiences like this help our students grow as leaders and represent Woodland High School and DD4 with pride.

Students in Mrs. Dionis’ Spanish class at Woodland High School recently wrapped up projects on Spanish-speaking countries. Each student researched a country and presented what they learned to the class and visitors, covering the culture, food, traditions, history, and famous landmarks.

Some students even brought in traditional food from their country, giving everyone a chance to experience the culture in a hands-on way. It was a great opportunity for students to practice their Spanish while learning more about the world around them.

Out of an abundance of caution, Dorchester School District Four will be closed on Monday, March 16 due to the risk of high winds and severe storms expected to move through our area late Monday morning into the early afternoon. All afterschool activities are also canceled. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we encourage everyone to stay safe as the weather moves through our community. We apologize for the late notice, as we wanted to gather as much information as possible before making this decision. We appreciate your understanding.
