Wolverine Battalion Completes "Operation Flagpole to Flagpole" in Honor of 9/11

On September 11, 2026, the Woodland High School Army JROTC Wolverine Battalion gathered around 9 a.m. at the Woodland High School flagpole to honor and remember the lives impacted by the events of September 11, 2001.

Known as "Operation Flagpole to Flagpole," the march began at the high school flagpole and ended at the Woodland Middle School flagpole. Along the way, cadets called JROTC cadences that kept the formation in step and showed the teamwork, discipline, and pride of the Wolverine Battalion.

Upon arriving at Woodland Middle School, the cadets took part in a special 9/11 remembrance ceremony. The event also marked the debut of Woodland Middle School's brand-new American flag, making it a meaningful moment for the school.

Through Operation Flagpole to Flagpole, cadets showed that remembrance is not only about looking back but also about coming together, serving others, and building a stronger community.

The Wolverine Battalion proudly completed the operation while continuing its mission to "motivate young people to be better citizens."
