The Woodland High School Wolverine Battalion, proudly established in 2010, has officially announced its 17th Battalion Commander for the 2026–2027 school year. This year is a very special and historic year for the Wolverine Battalion as this marks the first year that two women will serve together as the battalion’s top leaders.
Leading the Wolverine Battalion this year will be Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Taylor Fogle, the 17th Battalion Commander. Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Fogle has shown great leadership, dedication, and commitment throughout her time in JROTC. She will be responsible for leading the battalion and making sure cadets continue to represent the Wolverine Battalion with pride.
To celebrate this change in leadership, the Wolverine Battalion held a Change of Responsibility Ceremony. Cadets, instructors, families, and community members came together to recognize the outgoing leaders and welcome the new command team.
During the ceremony, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Taylor Fogle officially took over as the 17th Battalion Commander. Along with serving as Battalion Commander, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Fogle also serves as the Drum Major, helping lead the battalion during formations, ceremonies, and other special events.
The battalion also welcomed Cadet Command Sergeant Major Jenarah Adkinson as the new Command Sergeant Major. She will serve as the senior enlisted leader of the Wolverine Battalion and help maintain discipline, standards, teamwork, and cadet welfare throughout the school year.
The 2026–2027 school year is a historic moment for the Wolverine Battalion because this is the first time two women will serve together in the top leadership positions of the battalion. Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Taylor Fogle and Cadet Command Sergeant Major Jenarah Adkinson will work together to lead the battalion and continue building on the traditions that have been established over the years.
A special recognition was also given to the families of the incoming leaders for their support and encouragement. Their support has helped these cadets stay committed to JROTC and reach this important leadership position.
The Wolverine Battalion continues to operate under the guidance of Major John Logan (Ret.) and Sergeant First Class Kevin Simpson (Ret.). Both instructors provide mentorship, leadership, and professional instruction to help cadets become better leaders and citizens.
Since being established in 2010, the Wolverine Battalion has continued to build a tradition of developing leaders of character and teaching cadets the importance of Army values, responsibility, teamwork, and service. With the new command team, the battalion is looking forward to another great year and hopefully making more history along the way.
The Wolverine Battalion proudly congratulates Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Taylor Fogle, the 17th Battalion Commander and Drum Major, and Cadet Command Sergeant Major Jenarah Adkinson on their new leadership positions. We also want to thank the outgoing command team for everything they did for the battalion and for leaving behind a strong foundation for the next generation of leaders.
