On Tuesday, October 22nd, the Woodland Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Lake Marion High School to face the Timberland Wolves. This game was the deciding factor for which team would make it to the playoffs. The Lady Wolverines secured a big win, defeating Timberland in three straight sets.
The Lady Wolverines started strong in the first set, working hard to prove they deserved the playoff spot. They won the first set 25-16. Katherine Westbury opened the second set by serving seven points in a row. As the score reached 7-0, the fire alarm went off. While waiting outside for the all-clear to return, the Lady Wolverines kept their energy up by dancing and singing. After a 40-minute delay, the game resumed. Despite the interruption, the Lady Wolverines dominated, winning the second set 25-13. Their momentum and energy continued to build, and they fought hard to take the third set 25-18.
The Lady Wolverines are now preparing for their first playoff game. They will hit the road to take on East Clarendon on Thursday, October 31st. It’s sure to be another exciting game, so be sure to come out and support your Woodland Varsity Volleyball Team in the first round of the playoffs.
